Who's been sleeping in MY bed?!
Dan laid Daniel in Sarah's bed while he was changing Sarah. Daniel stayed sound asleep. Sarah kept saying, "Baby sleep in my bed!"

Storage Unit
The school is building a new storage unit for the teachers to store things in. The concrete for it was poured this week. We're really excited to have a place to store things!
Busy Saturday!
Last Saturday (the 15th) was quite a busy day around the Marasco house. Someone in the community had extra apples on their tree, so we picked a bunch and made applesauce. The girls and Dan washed almost all of the apples and Hannah even cranked some of the applesauce through the food mill. Daniel helped us out by taking wonderful naps! We got 29 quarts of applesauce, so we were really happy with that!
We also got a new driveway! Ron brought in a bunch of stones and smoothed it out nicely, so next spring we won't have a huge mud puddle in front of our house! The girls had fun running around on the driveway when it was finished.

Fall Recipes
My friend Mindy brought us Baked Deli Sandwiches after Daniel was born, and we enjoyed them so much that I asked her for the recipe. I thought some of you might like to try them too! Last night we had the sandwiches along with Tomato Soup, and it made a nice cozy meal for a chilly evening.
Baked Deli Sandwiches
1 loaf of frozen bread dough, or homemade bread dough
2 T. melted butter
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/4 lb. deli ham, sliced
6 thin slices mozzerella
1/4 lb. turkey breast, sliced
6 thin slices cheddar
In a small bowl, combine butter and seasonings. Roll the dough into a rectangle, approximately 16" x 12". Brush with half of the butter mixture. Layer the ham, mozzarella, turkey, and cheddar lengthwise over half of the dough to within 1/2 in. of edges. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch edges firmly to seal. Brush with remaining butter mixture. Bake at 400 for 10-15 min. or until golden brown. Cut into 1" slives. May be served with warm pizza sauce if desired, or it is wonderful with soup!

10 c. water
12 oz. tomato paste
28 oz. whole tomatoes or 4 cups of fresh chopped tomatoes
3 Tb. honey
1 Tb. salt
3/4 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 c. milk
3/4 c. flour
Combine water, tomato paste, whole tomatoes, honey, salt, basil, and garlic in a large pot. Simmer 10 minutes. Whisk together milk and flour and stir into hot soup. Cook and stir till thickened, but do not boil. Enjoy!

It's Fall!
Fall is here in Montana, with cooler weather and the first frosts coming. As we look towards Thanksgiving, I've been thinking about how much I have to be thankful for.
The girls and I have been having fun with some fall crafts.....and creating our own fall leaves and colors, since there aren't too many trees turning colors out here!
And since there are no leaves, the girls created their own pile of carrot tops to play in!

One Month Old!
It's hard to believe that little Daniel is already a month old! We put him on the scale the other night and he weighed 10 lbs. 10 oz.! I was surprised he's gained that much already - over 2 lbs! But I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, because he does like to eat! He's been doing really well at night.....going to bed around 9:00 in the evening, waking up at around 2:00 and 5:00 am and then sleeping till around 7:30 in the morning. He does stay awake a good bit during the day, and I'm really thankful that he doesn't seem to have his days and nights mixed up. He loves laying on his tummy, which is nice, because neither of the girls ever liked it very much, but I know it's good for them! Last night we had him laying on his stomach on the floor and he rolled over!! We were all surprised! He can already lift his head up pretty well too. He has smiled just a few times - a couple times at Dan and I, and then today, I had him laying on the floor with a book propped up so he could see the pictures and he was laying there smiling away at it!
Packing Shoeboxes
It felt a little overwhelming to try to go shopping for shoebox things, so we ordered things online, and then I set up a little "store" for the girls to pick out things for their shoeboxes and pack them. They had a wonderful time!!
