Christmas Day

Merry Christmas from Montana!

Hannah rearranged our nativity last night......
everyone worshipping the newborn king.

The ice fog created a winter wonderland here once again, and it
also caused our power to go out for several hours today.

Ravioli!

We decided to start a new tradition this year, of making ravioli for our Christmas dinner. (It's a special Italian treat from Dan's family!)  Dan was a wonderful help with kneading and rolling out the dough. I wouldn't have wanted to do it without him!  (Dan says that ravioli is a very "kneady" job).

Christmas Cantata

The Christmas cantata at our church was on the 22nd.  The person who was supposed to be conducting the choir got sick at the last minute, so they asked Dan to fill in.  He did a great job of stepping in at the last minute, and had a good time doing it too!
Hannah wasn't too sure about standing up front and singing with the other children, but she did, and she even sang along with "Away in a Manger".
Sarah actually let one of the ladies at church hold her for about 15 minutes while we were getting ready for the cantata.

My Little Laundry Helpers!

Hannah and Sarah were having a great time helping me with the laundry today!

Hannah's playtime

Hannah loves setting things up and making things nice and neat! She's been playing with her doll house alot lately, and she also loves to set up our nativity scenes. She did both of these all by herself.

The Beauty of Ice Fog

Quite often here, we get what is called "ice fog".  I had never heard of it before we moved here. We often get a thick fog, that coats everything with a layer of ice crystals. It's not snow, although it kind of looks like it, and it's absolutely beautiful!  At least if it's cold, we get to enjoy a beautiful winter wonderland!

Making cookies......and eating them too!

Our New Porches!

Front Porch

Back Porch
Our new porches arrived today. They built the porches inside and shed and then transported them to our house on a big trailer. They look so nice. The school has taken good care of making sure we have a nice place to live!  We're grateful.

Getting Ready for Christmas!

We had to settle for a fake tree this year - there aren't many trees out here in Montana!
But it actually looked pretty nice after we got all the branches spread out.

Hannah set this nativity scene up all by herself......
if you look closely you will see something funny!

Hannah and I decorated while Sarah was taking a nap. Whenever she woke up she kept pointing at all of the decorations!
