Yellowstone - Day 1 - Morning

Small waterfall at Golden Gate

Golden Gate

Looking down over the falls

Sheepeater Cliff - named after the Shoshone Indians who used the Bighorn Sheep
It is made of vertical columns of lava.

Lunch Time!

Clear Water Springs (hot springs - the picture doesn't show it, but we could see steam, and water bubbling up from the ground.)

More hot springs

Roaring Mountain! Joshua's favorite thing so far!

At Roaring Mountain, there are many fumaroles - vents where steam and gases escape, sometimes making loud roaring noises (which we did not get to hear!).
