I think it would be safe to say that for many people in our community, this is their favorite time of year - bringing in the harvest. It's rewarding for all the farmers to see the crops coming in - wheat, peas, canola, chickpeas....
One day this week, the boys noticed some semi trucks across the road where someone was harvesting. Daniel noticed that the trucks were red, white, and green, and said that Miss Connie said that those were the colors of "her" trucks. (Miss Connie is our neighbor, and she doesn't actually own the trucks, but the farmer who she works for does!) Well, I promised Daniel that we would walk over after naptime to watch for awhile. We all walked over, and then we got invited to go for combine rides! Dan came over after school was done too, and we all rode, either in the combine or the tractor that Connie was driving. It was so much fun!
