Our Mother's Day

My wonderful husband gave me such a lovely Mother's Day this year.  After church we drove about 45 minutes to a little creek that we discovered a little while ago. It's down in a valley - such a pretty place.
Porcupine Creek

The road that you drive on to get to the creek is called
Roosevelt Trail, and to continue driving on Roosevelt
Trail, you actually have to drive through Porcupine Creek,
as you can see here.  :)

Hannah Girl

It was such a perfect day - even warm enough to splash in the creek!

Sarah was actually more timid than Hannah to begin
with, which surprised us!

Looking at Daniel, you'd think it was a chilly day, but
we were just trying to keep the sun off!

Cottonwood trees.....about the closest thing we have to
"shade" trees. :)

I feel so blessed to be the mama of these three little ones.

We had already had quite a day, between going to church and going to the creek, but right when we walked in the door, Mr. Ortman called and asked us if we wanted to come over and see some lambs.  We've gotten to know the Ortman family some since we moved out here, and so we were excited to go over for a little while.  The girls and Daniel loved it!!
The Ortmans raise sheep for their wool and they have about 1000 sheep, so when
lambing time comes, they are quite busy!

The Great Pyrenees dogs act as "shepherds" for the sheep, protecting them
from wolves and coyotes while they are in the pasture.

So sweet!

Daniel loved grabbing the lambs wool!
